UNIQLO’S Flower of Peace for World Art Day

Over 50 Raffles Designers and Marketers created UNIQLO’S Flower of Peace for World Art Day

World Art Day is celebrated each year on 15 April, and more than 50 students from Raffles Singapore campus
came together to celebrate peace this World Art Day with UNIQLO’s Flowers of Peace workshop held on 15 April 2025.

About the Workshop

Inspired by Picasso’s iconic Bouquet of Friendship, Flowers of Peace is a 90-minute collaborative art workshop led by Artolution’s teaching artists, Zero and TraseOne, as they bring their expertise in community art making and collaborative storytelling. In a reflection on peace through art, Raffles Designers and Marketers were invited to contribute to a collaborative artwork, a collage of creations envisioning hope and our collective power to create positive change.

Where will the artworks be displayed?

Their artworks will be featured in a community art piece, put together by Artolution, to be displayed at the Picasso Museum in Paris.

On 16 May 2025, the International Day of living together in Peace, all 25 artworks, including a collage of
Singapore’s artworks, will be collated into one grand art piece and unveiled at the Picasso Museum in Paris and displayed for the public. It will be displayed at UNIQLO Marais thereafter.

Together, we create positive change by Design!

Collaboration: Singapore River’s Street Furniture

A Fresh Look for the Singapore River’s Street Furniture

The Singapore River’s street furniture has been given a bold new look. Refreshed with striking colours that brighten the waterfront while complementing its surroundings, these benches continue to serve as inviting
rest spots along Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay.

A collaboration between Singapore River One, Goldbell Group, and Raffles Design Institute, the Singapore River’s Street Furniture Design Project was first introduced in 2018 to enhance public spaces with thoughtful designs for visitors to Singapore River.

As part of the latest refurbishment, Raffles Interior Designer HENG Manith contributed to the colour selection process, ensuring a vibrant yet harmonious update to the original benches designed by Raffles Interior Designers Vera GUO Bing Ling and Thanakorn Sensathien, which had withstood the elements over the years. These benches remain a fixture of the riverfront experience, proving that great design is not just about aesthetics, it also provides good functionality with long-lasting impact for the community.

Take a seat along the Singapore River next time you stroll along the river.

Take a Breakfast Ball (TABB) With Raffles

Take a Breakfast Ball (TABB) With Raffles

In golf, a breakfast ball is a Mulligan taken on the 1st tee. A Mulligan is a shot which is allowed to be replayed without penalty. The 1st tee shot is often a case of conquering nerves and for the player to prepare and warm up properly before the round of golf.

Last year, TABB (Take A Breakfast Ball) Apparel offered Raffles Designers and Marketers the opportunity to design new collections of golf apparels for 2025.
Out of the 20 participating Raffles Designers and Marketers, we are proud to announce that Monica Estefania Jaurie’s and Felice Caroline Halim’s designs were selected and produced by TABB Apparel.

Congratulations to Monica and Felice on your designs!

Their collections are now available on tabbapparel.com

Raffles Privato at Design Orchard DORS

Raffles Singapore Launched Raffles Privato at Design Orchard DORS

Raffles Privato at Design Orchard DORS, featuring three budding Raffles Designers, and Raffles Fashion Designer and founder of NEWFOUND, Regina FANG, on 17 January 2025.

Having graduated in June 2024, Raffles Designers, Chika Orshi HERMAWAN, Natasha JOSEFINA, and Catherine SANTOSA, were handpicked by DORS to commercialise their graduation collections for their debut at DORS.

Set up in 2010 by the college, Raffles Privato is an incubator project aimed at assisting up-andcoming designers to establish their own private label, in support of talented Singapore-based and-trained designers, and the Singapore fashion industry.

Since its inception, Raffles Privato has launched successful brands like Sean Sheila. Depicted in the name of the retail concept, ‘Privato’ in Italian means “Private” and it relates to the graduates’ tutelage with their Principal, Giuseppe (Joe) SPINELLI, an Italian descendant.

The College would like to congratulate Raffles Privato Designers, Chika Orshi HERMAWAN, Designer and Founder of Chika Orshi, Natasha JOSEFINA, Designer and Founder of Sefina, Catherine SANTOSA, Designer and Founder of Catherine SANTOSA Jewellery Studio, and Regina FANG, Designer and Founder of NEWFOUND for the successful debut of their brands at DORS (Design Orchard).

It was an insightful and informative session learning the design process, the social causes, and the communities that their brands support. It makes buying quality design and shopping with a purpose more meaningful at DORS!
